It was a full house at the Lyric Theater for Rochester Lyric Opera's 10th anniversary celebration on August 28, 2015. Those of us in attendance were treated to wonderful performances of Mozart's The Impresario and selections from Le nozze di Figaro and Cosi tau tutte.

The Lyric Theater Project
"As you are waiting for the music to start, take a look around this amazing theater in which you are sitting. It's a wonderful space. Beautiful as it is though, and even though it already feels like a theater, it wasn't built for this purpose. To make this a truly remarkable theater will take updating, renovating and enhancing. We won't take away from the inspiring beauty of the space, but think of how much more beautiful music and other performances will be here with a larger stage, an orchestra pit, stat-of-the-art technology, and proper seating with better sight lines. These are just some of the changes we have planned, and you can help the Rochester Lyric Opera make the Lyric Theater a venue in which Rochester can take significant pride and other cities will envy. Go to
to read about our renovation plans and learn more about how you can support the project."
